Our service area covers postal codes 9416 (Oranje), 9422 (Smilde), and 9423 (Hoogersmilde).
You cannot register with us if you do not live in our service area. You can also register with our practice if your partner/family member is already registered with us (family reunification). If you have a partner or family, it is preferable that you, as a couple/family, are registered with one general practitioner.
For people living in Bovensmilde (9421), we recommend registering with Bovensmilde General Practice.
New patients living in Appelscha cannot register; they can register with Appelscha General Practice.

P CARE DURING A TEMPORARY STAY IN SMILDE AND THE SURROUNDINGS (SO-CALLED PASSENGER CARE)
If you require GP care during your holiday or temporary stay in Smilde, you can contact the Smilde GP Practice. However, the practice only offers urgent care, which requires an in-person visit and cannot wait until you can return to your own GP. The practice is primarily intended for GP care for its own patients in Smilde and the surrounding area, and we do not have access to your medical records or the important information contained therein.
What should you do?
1. For healthcare questions and medical problems, first check the website thuisarts.nl, where you can find extensive information and advice, including information on when to contact a general practitioner.
2. Preferably contact your own GP first. Advice can often be provided remotely by phone or using photos to help you continue until you return home. Any necessary (repeat) medication can also be ordered through your own GP. The GP can then arrange for the prescription to be sent to the pharmacy in Smilde, so you can pick it up there.
3. If you do have a healthcare question or medical problem that requires an assessment, you can, of course, contact us. Please call us at 0592-412505.
EMERGENCY
1. Call 112 in a life-threatening situation!
2. If urgent medical assistance is required and the practice line is busy, you can use our emergency number 0592 – 412 427.
3. In case of injuries or urgent complaints, you can come to the practice immediately. If you call to let us know you're coming, the GP can prepare for your arrival.
